Mud jacking is a process that raises sunken concrete back to its original level. This unique process will restore sunken or uneven concrete slabs close to their original grade and alignment with surrounding concrete slabs.
Why is the ECL the best choice for your mud jacking needs?
ECL uses a premium quality grout mixture of topsoil, sand, and Portland cement that is extremely low shrink and 100% stable. We provide fast, professional and courteous service to all areas in the state of Illinois and Wisconsin. We also provide a one-year warranty for all of our work. It should be noted that ECL is a 28 year old company - literally a pioneer in the Mud Jacking field.
Why has my concrete settled or settling?
There are many different reasons why concrete areas are prone to settling. Sometimes in new construction, the backfill around the foundation is not compacted properly. This will create voids and the concrete may settle. The backfill around utilities, such as a sewer line that was replaced, will also settle over time.
If the slab is on a hill and water starts running into an open crack, control joint, or alongside the slab, this will eventually wash out the supporting soil and cause the slab to settle and crack.
You may have a large vehicle, or pile of landscaping material, etc, that is left on the slab for a prolonged period of time. This will accelerate the settlement process.
What are the benefits of Concrete Leveling over replacement?
The cost of leveling usually represents a savings of 50%-70% over replacement. The leveling process can be completed and ready for use in a matter of hours. No Municipal Building Permits are required.
Can any concrete slab be raised or leveled?
Generally, yes. However when large areas have crumbled or deteriorated, replacing the concrete may be the only option.
Our concrete has "raised up". Can concrete slabs be lowered?
Generally, no. However adjacent slabs can be "Feathered" or "Floated" to eliminate trip hazards. This is also true for tree roots that have caused concrete slabs to raise.
What effect does it have on my existing landscaping?
ECL guarantees no damage to your landscaping, lighting or irrigation designs.
